ABOUT DR. ANDREW DEROCHER

Dr. Andrew Derocher, a professor of biology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, has researched polar bears in the Arctic region for over 35 years and has a B.S from the University of British Columbia, a M.S from the University of Alberta and a Ph.D from the University of Alberta. Andrew’s research interests include the conservation and management of polar bears, specifically on aspects such as habitat use, harvest effects and predator-prey relationships. Andrew is also focused on the effects of climate change and toxic chemicals on polar bears.
